Faulty Pronoun Reference - Exercise 3

Directions: Rewrite each sentence to correct the faulty pronoun reference. When you are finished, click on the "Check My Work" button at the bottom of the page to check your answers.

1.  The parents told the children that they were going out for dinner.



2.  In the newspaper it said that the mayor will resign today.



3.  Bill wrote a letter to the editor yesterday, which surprised me.



4.  Some students did not pass the difficult physics exam; this led to lower grades.



5.  When Frank threw the vase at the mirror, it broke.



6.  Howard has always wanted a sports coupe, and last year he did it.



7.  Susan carried the box into the storage area. Her manager was angered by that.



8.  On the news they said that aviation engineers have perfected a new hybrid engine.



9.  The girl''s mother scolded her for being late.



10.  Even though the boy learned to play the piano well, he did not like it.
